Fruit was harvested early March and gently crushed into an open fermenter. No additions were made to the wine and fermentation was conducted by wild yeast. The must was first hand plunged and then gently pumped over as required until basket pressed after 6 days. The resulting wine has rich red berry fruits, mulberry and a hint of vanillin. The palate has lush forest fruits, savoury sweet tannins and a long and fruit driven finish.
The 2020/2021 season was very moderate with a long and gentle summer. Adequate rain across the growing season allowed excellent vine growth and this was especially apparent across all varieties. Veraison was followed by excellent ripening conditions which allowed strong varietal expression and high quality.
