Touriga Nacional may be best known as one of Portugal’s great varieties, but it has found an intriguing home at Dogrock in the Pyrenees. The region’s combination of warm days, cool nights and a long growing season allows Touriga to develop its characteristic perfume, spice and depth while retaining freshness and definition.
Our 2022 vintage produced a wonderfully aromatic expression of the variety. Lifted spice and pepper lead the wine, opening into a medium-bodied palate with generous fruit, savoury complexity and a long, persistent finish.
Fragrant and full of character, this is a wine built around spice, dark fruit and savoury detail, with enough structure to reward time in the cellar while remaining approachable now. It is a distinctly Dogrock interpretation of an Iberian variety particularly well suited to the Pyrenees.
